We hired DHC originally back in October 2015 to perform mostly interior renovation involving replacing the main level flooring, basement flooring, whole house painting + wallpapers, door painting, some exterior feature changes (stucco), doors replacement, building a closet room with custom cabinetry, custom closets, etc. We then later hired them back to repair the basement after we replaced some underground pipes in Oct 2017. Overall our experience is excellent and here are the reasons: 1.Initially we contacted 4-5 contractors, they were to only one who response back within 1-2 days (some came back after a week and some never came back). They came to my house and assessed the work and prepared a quote that includes a lot of details including a cost breakdown between materials and labor. This part is very important to me. Their pricing on the labor was quite reasonable and as for material costs, those varies depending on what you pick but I found that their pricing are generally cheaper than you go out and brought them yourself. They tracked the budget very well, we went over budget by 10% only because I picked more expensive materials than was originally planned and we have increased the scope of the project slightly as well. 2.They gave me a work plan and Bailey provides full design services including drawings for the closet design for us. She is very patient in explaining the details for us. Furthermore, DHC has really good staff as they are very good at their job but also very friendly and passionate about doing a good job. There were several instances where I thought it was ‘good enough’ but DHC’s staff pushed to deliver more. I am impress with Scott’s attention to detail and knowledge but more importantly his honestly. He always follow the code which is a great thing. He and Bailey are someone you can TRUST. If there are things Scott isn’t sure about, he will tell you and won’t try to give you ill advice. I am also very impress with Terence, he is so detail oriented. They are all very patient to explain everything which is a key to me. As a home owner you feel nervous about contractors especially if you are not expert in what they are doing, but overtime I felt more and more confident with the crew as the project went on. 3.Not everything is perfect and hiccup is expected. What is impressive to me is that both Scott and Bailey responded to my concerns in a respectful, patient way and we discussed ways to move forward. At the end, all concerns were addressed in a way that is satisfactory to me. This is important because you are always not sure how contractor will deal with disputes but I have to say I am very happy with DHC in working with clients to resolve any issue. You can count of Bailey and Scott to work through any issues with you and be confident that they will do what they can. 4.DHC do use subcontractors for jobs such as flooring / painting, etc. I have to say the subcontractors they pick are EXCELLENT. I am very impress by the quality of people they choose to work with them. 5.After my renovation, I have to repair some underground pipes so the basement floor was partially removed, I called Scott and he promptly came by within a few days and his team came in and repair the floors in a total of 3.5 days. We had to order new laminate flooring that was supposed to match our existing flooring but the manufacturer changed the interlocking mechanism. Instead of suggesting to me to replace the whole floor, they somehow custom modified the interlocking system to make the new floor fits with the old and it is perfectly done and you can't tell the difference. 6. The payment schedule is very reasonable. They detailed me when payments would be made based on the progress of the renovation. After my experience with DHC, I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants renovation done right because they are honest, trustworthy team of people and they do great work as well. After a very nerve racking experience renovating our kitchen, we were very leary of who and how to renovate our main and ensuite bathrooms. By chance, we were referred to Dream Home Creations. From start to finish the Dream Home Creations team lived up to their name. They were a dream to work with. The detail of their estimate (including costs) were clear-cut and accurate. Any overage in cost was our choice. Also, Bailey and Scott have a great team of skilled workers who take pride in their work. Matching patterns in the tile took care and precision. Bailey was great to work with, she had wonderful ideas but was always aware of costs and stayed within the budget. The tradespeople were very professional, got the job done and their work was impeccable. As I live in a condominium they had to carry tools, equipment and building materials up & down the elevator - no damage whatsoever (unlike some of the people I've seen working on other condos in my building). We contacted Dream Home Creations based on the recommendation of one of our neighbours, whose home they had renovated the previous year. Sure enough, they did not disappoint. They completed several projects in our home, including the renovation of three bathrooms, the laundry room, the cold room, new interior doors on the main floor and some repair work in the basement. Bailey also furnished my living room, which up to that point was pretty much a blank slate. Bailey has excellent taste, and knows how to make the best use of a space. She does not push any one style on her clients, but instead works with them to find out what they like and makes recommendations they may not have considered. She also helps to work within a budget and provides a variety of choices within the range of the budget, ultimately allowing her clients to choose from among her recommendations. They also helped us out with some minor work around the house that other contractors may have balked at, which we truly appreciated. The tilework is gorgeous and the room has been transformed from an out of date bathroom with a ton of wasted space to a spa like retreat with a fantastic amount of storage and just the right amount of sparkle.
